Finding A New Creative Flow & Reconnecting with my Creativity + Exciting news ✨
Embracing new beginnings and teasing my latest collection
Reconnecting with my creativity & working on a new collection
Last month, I have started painting again.
It has been a couple of weeks without having any strengths and ideas about what to do next. It was hard and sometimes a little bit demotivating, with spurges of inspiration being then brought down by cycles of poor health and life circumstances.
What motivated me to keep going despite all that was the promise I made to myself last March to give art a try for a full year and commit to the journey (more on that in a future newsletter). So,as soon as I felt fit enough, I grabbed my paint brushes again.
As a result, a little new collection started to see the light of the day.
It felt a bit scary so I decided to move away from my art on paper for this one. I had a couple of canvases lying around and felt inspired to pick them up after visiting Matisse’ exhibition in Switzerland.
While there, I loved to see how vibrant and full of life his still lifes were and wanted to explore similar topics on my canvases. I loved how he let the world around him sink in first and then interpreted it in his paintings. He had an eye for color and finding beauty in simplicity, and I think this is why his work appeals to me so much.
I had so many lovely still-life sketches in my sketchbooks that I felt would be really lovely as a collection. I must thank
for her wonderful still-life session, which revived my creative energy. I was inspired by simply and cosy scenes from a home, a bit like last year during my “still-life table scene” collection.I love how a home is one of the most comforting places. There, we learn to find joy in the simple moments and pleasures of life. A sense of home represents safety, love and self-care; and I think this is why I love painting those scenes so much.
We can get often distracted by things around us and think we need more to make us happy. But to me, nothing feels better than having the privilege of sharing a meal with my loving family or reading a good book in bed. Those are little things ,but they make us stop in our busy life, and enjoy slow and caring moments.
As always, I hope that when you look at those paintings, you find some of those feelings again within you. I hope they can bring you comfort, beauty, and joy into your homes.
Collection releasing at the end of the month.
Mother’s day Commission now open ! 💗
This Mother's day treat yourself , or a loving mother in your life to the gift of art.
I decided to offer around 6 spots for commission this year on Mother’s day. If motherhood thought me one thing is that time flies by too quickly, and before we know it, our kids are big and run free. If there is one thing I always wanted it, is to have some of those moments as memories on a painting.
So my idea this year, depending on the demand, will be to offer the following options:
30th March: UK (2 spots) Shipping mid-March
11th May: US, Australia (2 spots) Shipping last week of April
25th May: Europe (2 spots) Shipping mid-May
The paintings would be either oil paintings or watercolors on A5 cotton handmade paper and framed in natural wood oak(frame size: 20x30cm or 30x40cm frames).
The paintings would be based on the mood board below representing any of those subjects:
Simple Mother and child picture from the back
Simple still-life of yours or your mother’s favorite table
Women and poetry series ( send me a quote or poem, and I take it from there)
For now, I am only offering this to newsletter subscribers. I will send a separate email later to subscribers with all the commission information.
Things I loved lately
Books I enjoyed:

Matisse : Invitation to the voyage
Matisse, Invitation to Voyage isn’t just a book—it’s a ticket to seeing the world through Matisse’s eyes. Inspired by Baudelaire’s poem, it takes you on a colorful ride through Italy, Spain, Russia, Morocco, the U.S., and even Tahiti. Each destination unlocked new ways for him to approach landscapes and still lifes, blending different cultures, colors, and perspectives into something fresh and exciting. For any artist looking to shake up their style, this book shows how travel (even if just in your imagination) can breathe new life into how we paint, turning everyday scenes into vibrant, dynamic works of art.
Guilia Becker: Wenn ich nicht Urlaub mache, macht es jemand anderes (in german only) A very funny collection of short stories about the narrator’s life turning into funny and unpredictable events. If you are having a rough week I highly recommend this book for a good laugh.
Sarah Napthali: Buddhism for mothers of young children
A book about reconnecting with motherhood, finding our place in this big life-changing experience. You don’t have to be a buddhist to appreciate this book, but it is full of lovely stories and tips on tackling the challenges of being a mother; teaching us to slow down, be present in the moment with our child, and find space to find peace within ourselves. This book changed my way of parenting and tremendously helped me relieve some of the mental stress I was feeling lately.
Artist dates :
If you’re looking for ways to spark your creativity this month, you can get inspired by some of my favorite spring art dates activities:
Spend an afternoon getting lost at your local art museum.
Pack up a picnic and have a long lunch with your sketchbook or pochade box and paint plein air.
Take part in online drawing sessions with like-minded artists: I usually join Emma’s Carlisle, Sarah Van Dongen, and Sarah Dyers sessions when I need a creative pick-me-up me up
Get yourself an inspiring art book to practice master studies
Set up a lovely still-life and pick it up from there.
